I make records the old way. People come in and they play. I try to create an atmosphere where people are free to be creative. I try to take out the pressure from the recording environment. When you take out the pressure, people work better and dig deeper into themselves. As a consequence, they end up with a truer piece of work... something they can listen to know knowing they made a record that was a reflection of themselves.

The philosophy may be old style, but the equipment and processes are modern. For a small studio we use all the tools available to make a record the artist wants. We record both analogue and digital. We have up to 64 tracks at our disposal and full automation at mixdown. The studio also boasts an impressive range of mics, outboard gear, guitars, basses, amps and drums.

When I work with an artist as a producer, I aim to make it very clear I'm working to create THEIR vision of THEIR music. I'm always keen to contribute whatever I can to a project but understand my role as producer is to assist them in making the record they dream of.
